SouthSide Summer

The new Connect South, Mends Street piazza will come alive on Friday and Saturday evenings this summer when the City presents SouthSide Summer. Join us for FREE Acoustic Friday and Family Saturday every week between Friday 17 January and Saturday 15 February 2020 excluding the Australia Day weekend.

SouthSide Summer will run as part of FRINGE WORLD 2020 – Perth’s most popular annual festival and the third-largest fringe in the world in 2019 – and provide the perfect opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy the new community space. Enjoy relaxed tunes set to a stunning backdrop to finish your working week from 4-6pm on Acoustic Fridays.

Stay late and see the area light up at night – you could even grab a bite or quick drink along Mends St at one of the many restaurants. Bring the little ones for hours of free fun on Family Saturdays from 10am-2pm, when children’s activities, live and roving entertainment and more will electrify the area and encourage people to further explore Mends St and the City.

There will be large scale games and pop up activations as well as options for teens including arts and theatre workshops and parkour.
