Selfless Orchestra: Great Barrier | Fringe World Festival 2020
SELFLESS ORCHESTRA presents 'Great Barrier' an immersive live music and multimedia performance exploring the natural wonder that is the Great Barrier Reef, the rich history and our troubled relationship that has lead to the current threat of its extinction.
Monday January 27th – Sunday February 2nd @ Main Hall, Old Girls School, East Perth, WA 7pm
SELFLESS is a large Post-Rock ensemble that unites a group of established musicians from a variety of disciplines including the Perth Symphony Orchestra and popular contemporary groups including Injured Ninja, Last Quokka, Karnivool, Mile End and more live scoring a cinematic journey exhibited upon multiple screens and surfaces in an intimate setting.
“I was at the edge of new awareness … This show is a call to action.” Inthemaez Review, April 2018
Formed in 2018, SELFLESS ORCHESTRA creates epic long-form cinematic instrumental music akin to contemporary groups such as Godspeed You Black Emperor, Mogwai and Sigur Ros creating spaces in which hope and despair co-exist, where audiences can be educated and inspired about issues of social and environmental justice through uncompromising use of sound and light.
