Adopt Different: PETstock urges would-be pet parents to shed stereotypes this National Pet Adoption Day
During National Pet Adoption Day on Saturday 15 February, pet rescue organisations will pay a visit to PETstock stores across Perth and WA with homeless animals to help them find forever homes. The initiative led by PETstock’s charity foundation PETstock Assist, and its major not-for-profit partner, PetRescue, urges would-be pet owners to think more responsibly about pet ownership by reconsidering their buying options to help break the cycle of pet homelessness.

What: PETstock Assist National Pet Adoption Day
When: Saturday February 15, 2020
Time: 10 am – 3pm
Where: Participating PETstock stores across Perth and WA
Who: Pet adoption experts from local animal rescue groups and rescue pets for adoption in attendance at selected stores.
Why: To raise awareness of pet adoption and encourage Australians to help a rescue pet in need.
Last year’s campaign saw over 1,000 rescue pets find loving homes. Yet, there is still more work to do, with an estimated 200,000 pets living unclaimed in Australian shelters and pounds across Australia. In 2020, PETstock hopes to outmatch last year’s adoption numbers and find even more healthy, happy pets forever homes. All pets available for adoption receive up-to-date vaccines, are desexed and have undergone a full health assessment. Pet adoption experts from local rescue groups will also be in attendance to answer any questions and assist with the adoption process.
Pets of all sizes, breeds and ages will be up for adoption. So, whether you are looking for a four-legged fur-ball or something with scales, you are bound to find the perfect fit for your family.
