2019 Judo Oceania Open and Oceania Cup
Hot on the heels of the upcoming World Judo Day, Perth plays host to the 2019 Judo Oceania Open and Oceania Cup next week.
Judo WA will be welcoming 500 competitors (or judokas) from 82 nations from November 2 – 4 at the Gold Netball Centre in Jolimont. The 2019 Oceania Open will be largest and highest-calibre judo event ever held in Australia, surpassing even the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Many of the judokas will be using the event to gain points for Olympic selection for Tokyo 2020, including the sport’s biggest star, 10-time world champion and 2x Olympic gold medalist, France’s Teddy Riner.
