2015 Avon Descent Family Fun Days

The 43rd annual Avon Descent takes place on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August 2015. Competitors from around the world take on 124 gruelling kilometres of white water and marathon flats in a two day time trial in both paddle and power craft.

Spectators can enjoy action on the water from riverbank events with race commentary, free entertainment and much more to be found at the Avon Descent Family Fun Days in Northam, Toodyay, Belmont and Bayswater.

Shire of Northam Avon River Festival

The excitement kicks off in Northam on Friday 31 July with the Avon River Festival which provides a chance for spectators and competitors to come together and enjoy a street parade, food, entertainment and rides.

Toodyay International Food Festival

On Saturday 1 August competitors tackle day one of the Descent. Spectators can sit right on the River and watch all the competitors race past while enjoying delicious food from around the world at the Toodyay International Food Festival. There are a diverse range of performances inspired by cultures from around the globe and kids of all ages are entertained with free bouncy castles, face painting and other great activities.

On Sunday, view the Avon Descent from picturesque riverside reserves such as Success Hill Reserve, Point Reserve, Pickering Park, Sandy Beach Reserve and Ashfield Parade Reserve

City of Belmont Avon Descent Family Fun Day

The Family Fun Day event in Belmont gives spectators a chance to cheer on competitors and encourage them towards the finish. Food, entertainment, kids' activities and live race commentary create a festival feeling that the whole family can enjoy.

Avon Descent Finish Line Family Fun Day The City of Bayswater's Finish Line Family Fun Day provides spectators with the opportunity to experience live race action while enjoying food and entertainment, bouncy castles and more.
