12 Days by Zhoa Qing
This work highlights the impact of the tragedy on the ordinary citizens of Sichuan province and the dramatic rescue efforts undertaken by the Chinese Army, medical teams and volunteers in response to the earthquake.
Zhao Qing provides a moving social documentary of the first twelve days of rescue, and follows this drama with a poignant portrayal of the lives of people affected by the tragedy in the months and years after the event as they overcome adversity and start their lives again.
This exhibition is part of PCP’s annual Mayday showcase, where we focus on photography with a social conscience, and seek out photography that harnesses the human qualities of the medium.
