112 – Metro City Perth
With 16 million album sales and a Grammy Award under their belt, R&B super-group 112 can boast owning some of the biggest urban songs of the last 15 years.
Friday December 10th sees the trio hit R&B Superstar at Metro City in Perth, as part of their upcoming Australian tour. Equally rooted in gospel, soul and hip hop, 112 were the first R&B group to emerge from Sean Puffy Combs Bad Boy roster. Not only was the groups eponymous 1996 debut popular, but the group could be heard on records by such Bad Boy artists as Mase and the Notorious B.I.G. They had great success throughout the late 90s and early 2000s, most notably winning a Grammy in 1997 with the song Ill Be Missing You with Puff Daddy and Faith Evans. Now touring as trio, the group consists of founding members Quinnes Q Parker and Michael Keith who are joined by Kenny Wray, the brother of R&B songstress Nicole Wray. The group has been busy in 2010 with tours throughout Europe and studio sessions to record their as yet untitled, sixth studio album which they anticipate releasing in 2011. Perth fans can expect to hear all the 112 anthems including Only You, Cupid, Its Over Now, Peaches & Cream, Dance with Me and the international number 1, Puff Daddys Ill Be Missing You, the ode to Notorious BIG, following his death in 1997. Local support by Kassia (Live), Bsyde (Live), DJ Mr Phat, DJ Slick, Bounce, Ruthless & Brett Costello
