‘O’ Day – Perth Cultural Centre
Wild weather put a temporary stop to the Perth Cultural Centre’s ‘O’ Day last month, but with so much fun stuff planned, it just had to be rescheduled!
The Perth Cultural Centre (PCC) will, given no prevailing weather conditions, be alive with colour, entertainment and activity for ‘O’ Day on Sunday 20 February. Grab your kids or mates and re-visit the PCC to experience the transformed cultural heart of Perth.
We’ll have roving performers, opera singers, musicians, free children’s rides – including a beautiful old-fashioned carousel, live folk and roots music and the Made on the Left pop-up market showcasing the wares of talented local designers.
The new State Theatre Centre is opening its doors again for free tours from 10am to 4pm, and the gorgeous Spiegeltent, home of this year’s Fringe World, will also be showing off it’s 1920’s grandeur in its new home in the PCC’s Urban Orchard.
‘O’ Day will also give you the chance to revisit the WA Museum, State Library, PICA and of course the Art Gallery of Western Australia, which is currently showing Year 12 Perspectives, a collection of the best TEE artwork from around WA. These are no ordinary works of art.
Parking available at the State Library or Roe Street or catch the train to Perth station
Activities in and around the revitalised Perth Cultural Centre, new State Theatre Centre, Made on the Left markets and the Fringe World Spiegeltent. Don’t miss the last day of the State Library’s Vite Italiane – Italian Lives exhibition, Year 12 Perspectives at the Art Gallery of WA, current exhibitions at the WA Museum Shell Shocked – Australia after armistice, and Femme Fatale: The female criminal. PICA is showing the first Australian solo exhibition by acclaimed Irish artist John Gerrand, Roderick Sprigg’s Gold, and video work A Song for the Stonebreakers.
