Gordon Ramsay – 24 June 2009

Gordon Ramsay comes to Perth for a talk and Q&A session, from 7.30am in the Riverside Theatre in Perth Convention Exhibition Centre on Wednesday 24 June 2009.

Listen to the real man behind the television personality as Gordon talks about weathering the tough times and how the belief in yourself can pull you through. With personal anecdotes of his successes and his failures, Gordon will dish up his advice and where he sees the future for Gordon Ramsay.
Be ready with your questions from 8.30am to get some of your own personal advice from the award winning Chef who currently has 25 restaurants in his empire not counting the soon to open Maze in Melbourne.

Tickets are $125 and includes 1.5 hours of Gordon Ramsay including a 30 minute Q&A, a Ramsay takeaway bag with Playing with Fire by Gordon Ramsay and an on-the-go breakfast.

There will also be a Black Tie Dinner supporting Variety WA on Thursday 25 June at the Government House Ballroom. Tables of 10 are $10,000!

The International Beer Festival is coming to Perth on 10 & 11 January 2009 and will be located at Langley Park on the Swan River foreshore.

The festival will showcase local, national and international beers in a huge licensed area giving patrons a chance to sample a wide range of different beers. Drink tasting tickets start at $1. This is an ideal opportunity to try a selection of beers you may not have previously tasted.
There is entertainment for the whole family with carnival rides and side show alley, live music and DJ’s, fashion parades and displays. Activities include a rock climbing wall, sporting events and a free kids play area.

Food and non-alcoholic drinks are available.

Gates open at 3pm and close at 10pm.

$25 adult, $12 child over 12 years, $55 family

A whole “What’s on in February 2009″ due out at the end of the month!

The biggest event in Perth on New Years Day is the Perth Cup at Ascot Racecourse. But there are a few alternatives if you want to head out amongst the people.

Perth Cup 2008 – Ascot Racecourse – from 11am

General admission ticket – $30

Daren Reid and the Soul City Groove in the Flame Tree Garden with bars, a food court and a large screen. Trackside Racing, see the race from the grandstand or the front lawn. And the Champagne Unworry Garden has a catwalk, funky bar with entertainment, fashion, and Dirty Laundry playing after the last race.

Tentland – The Loungeroom, Smirnhoff Experience, MRQ, The Rockin Horse and EatingWA.

Tickets from around $260, which usually includes about 5 hrs of drinks, food and entertainment.

Club Paradiso at the Oyster Bar in North Fremantle with DJ Fedde La Grand and many others, from 3pm. Tickets from Moshtix from $125.

Tokyo in the Sky at The C Restaurant from 3.30pm with 6.5hr beverage package, food, complimentary massage, djs, live music and pampering Geisha girls. Tickets are $265 from the Known Associates website.

Fat Freddy’s Drop at Fremantle Arts Centre from 5.30pm, with support from DJ Vadim, Sunshine Brothers and more. Tickets from Heatseeker for $55 + booking fee.

Pseudo Echo at The Ruby Room from 7pm. Tickets from Ticketek for $25 + booking fee.

Fremantle Collectors Fair at the Masonic Hall in Fremantle from 9am to 3.30pm.

The Avon Descent is a two day, 134km race down the Avon and Swan Rivers (Northam to Perth) in a variety of paddle and power craft.
There are numerous spectator viewing points, and some festivals in the towns along the way and start and finish spots!
