Harry Connick, Jr brings his ‘My New Orleans Tourâ to Perth, for An Evening on the Green with a 12 piece Big Band at Kings Park on Sunday 30 March 2008.
Having first reached a mass audience as a pianist, singer and bandleader, Harry Connick, Jr has now firmly secured his place in the public eye as a renaissance man and exceptionally versatile entertainer.
His love of music and performing dates back to his childhood in New Orleans, where he studied piano with such luminaries as James Booker and Ellis Marsalis. He first performed publicly at age five, appeared on his first jazz recording at age ten, and released his self-titled major label debut for Columbia Records at 19, only a year after his high school graduation and his move to New York City.
Tickets go on sale Tuesday February 5 from Ticketmaster.

Pennywise, Sum 41, The Vandals and Bowling For Soup perform in Perth at Robinson Pavilion on Wednesday 16 April 2008.
Resting on laurels has never been an option for Southern Californiaâs punk rock powerhouse Pennywise. Letâs get this straight. Your average punk band doesnât sell out venues like the 14,000-capacity Long Beach Arena. And your average punk band doesnât last eighteen months these days let alone eighteen years.
On their previous whirlwind visit, Sum 41 left thousands of fans pining for tickets and a national tour. As the selected few witnessed, Sum 41 are more powerful than ever, spitting in the face of the establishment and delivering amazing live shows.
Who can forget the image etched into our minds of The Vandals creating some of the biggest circle pit dust bowls back in 2002…Warren standing on speaker stacks with nothing more than a thin line of gortex between private parts and disconcerting eyes.
The unswervingly upbeat Bowling For Soup have been threatening an Australian tour for yearsâŚand what a kick ass lineup to pop their cherry on! Bowling for Soup will be bringing their gleefully unsophisticated songs about losing in love, hanging out with your mates and drinking lots of beer.
This is a licensed All Ages gig.
Tickets on sale from Ticketek and BOCS. Tickets are around $65.
Budgie tour Australia and perform at Capitol in Perth on Saturday 23 February 2008.
Legendary U.K. rock band BUDGIE formed in Wales U.K. in 1967 will be touring Australia for the first time during February 2008. The current line-up includes original front man and songwriter BURKE SHELLEY on bass and vocals, STEVE WILLIAMS on drums and CRAIG GOLDY, lead guitarist with American metal legends DIO, making a guest appearance for this tour.
Young lovers of old school rock are re-discovering BUDGIEâS excellent back catalogue of albums with unusually themed artwork and equally strange song titles as many did during the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal in the 80âs and again in the 90âs.
Head First and Counterfeit God are the local support.
Tickets from Moshtix for $65.
