In 1984, LL Cool J was the very first artist to sign to Def Jam where he released his first single “I Need a Beat”. The song was the first hit record for Def Jam, and its success persuaded him to drop out of school to record his debut album “Radio”. LL has continued his reign at the top over the last 22 years and has gone on to release 12 albums, a successful clothing line, has authored three books, starred in numerous blockbuster movies and TV shows, has won two Grammy Awards, ten Soul Train Awards, fifteen New York Music Awards, a Billboard Award and an MTV Award to name but a few.
Joining LL in his explosive live show is legendary DJ Cut Creator, who was recently named one of the Greatest Hip Hop DJ’s of all time. They will both be supported by West Coast DJ Bobcat.

The Chaser’s bring their Variety Hour show to Perth! From 15 to 19 April 2008 The Chaser’s Age of Terror will be happening at His Majesty’s Theatre in Perth.
After heeding Today Tonight’s complaints about the outrageous waste of taxpayers’ money on their show The War On Everything, the Chaser team has decided to take some time off from TV in the first half of 2008. The Chaser will adopt a purely user-pays approach next year, mounting a national tour of a new live production, The Chaser’s Age Of Terror Variety Hour, from March to June 2008.
War On Everything co-conspirators Andrew Hansen, Chas Licciardello, Julian Morrow and Craig Reucassel will appear in the show. Chris Taylor has opted not to tour while under the cloud of a fatwa issued by the Irwin family, and will remain in an undisclosed location developing new television projects for the team. His irreplaceableness will be demonstrated by the inclusion of Dominic Knight, one of The Chaser’s founders and a writer for the War.
Tickets on sale from BOCS for around $45.
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah come to Australia for the Laneway Festival. Unfortunately the Laneway Festival hasn’t made it to Perth yet, but CYHSY come to Perth anyway, and perform at Metro City on Friday 22 February 2008.
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah made quite an impression when they released their eponymous debut a few years back. Hailed as one of the most thrilling and original acts to emerge in years, CYHSY set themselves apart by setting eccentric frontman Alec Ounsworth’s distinctive vocals against music that could only be described as exhilarating. 2007’s follow up Some Loud Thunder cemented the band’s status as pioneers of indie rock.
Tickets on sale now through BOCS, moshtix and Sunset Events for around $45.
