Daft PunkDaft Punk are finally coming to Australia, and will perform in Perth at The Esplanade on Sunday 16 December 2007.

Faster Louder reports:

The ‘Never Ever Land’ tour will see the pyramid spectacular landing in Australia for four massive shows this December, with a world-class roster of supports to back up the robot rockers. In addition to the presence of Daft Punk, we’ll also be enjoying shows from a number of other acts from the Modular stable. Indie/electro rockers The Presets will be playing one of their last shows before they unleash their second album on the world, rising star Muscles will be clocking in while the ubiquitous Bang Gang DJ posse will be warming the crowds up.

As if that wasn’t enough, we’ll have another another international guest in the form of fellow French dance music duo SebastiAn & Kavinsky flying in for the ‘Never Ever Land’ tour. One of the current stable of French producers on the Ed Banger label that are dominating dancefloors around the world, they come from a musical heritage that is inextricably linked to massive legacy left by Daft Punk, so their presence on the bill is appropriate indeed.

Talib KweliTalib Kweli and Scribe will perform at Metro City in Perth on 10 October 2007.

DJ Zeph & Azeem are supporting.

Talib Kweli has become a solo hit since his days in Black Star with Mos Def in the late 1990s. He was even named by Jay-Z and 50 Cent as one of their favourite rappers – high accolades for the Brooklyn native. Kweli firmly established himself as a tour de force in the world of rap music with his debut album Reflection Eternal in 2000, and has since become both a critically acclaimed artist and music industry stalwart, establishing his own record label Blacksmith Music.

SkribeScribe has likewise enjoyed immense success since he shot to stardom with the release of his debut album The Crusader in 2003. The Crusader spawned a steady stream of hits such as Not Many, Stand Up and Dreaming, and spent over 75 weeks in the ARIA Top 40 charts. The tidal wave of Scribe’s popularity resulted in him being voted Australia’s second favourite rapper, losing out narrowly to Eminem, by Rolling Stone readers.
