The acts include – the incredible stunt & trick riding troupe from california known as – ‘the Riata Ranch Cowboy Girls’ & the wizardry brilliance & master of trick riding & comedy – american sensation & showstopper ‘Tommie Turvey Jnr’. There will also be ‘the running of the mob’ at the opening of the show – ‘dressage’ – ‘whip cracking’ and a spectacular ’showjumping competition’.

Tickets are on sale through Ticketek from 2 April, and prices vary from $40 to $80, depending on concession, adult or junior status, A or B reserve. There are also family tickets available.

The organiser behind this is Stadium Events. See the ad that’s on tv on YouTube here. Stadium Events were kind enough to allow me to upload it to my youtube account.

The weather report is fine (27 Saturday, 25 Sunday), the line-up times have changed a bit, but it’s alllll goooood! It looks like we’re going to have a great weekend of Blues n Roots music in Fremantle! Keep an eye on my original post for last minute updates! And there’s still some Saturday tickets left!

There’s even going to be free blues n roots music all over Fremantle (including the CAT busses!!) as part of the Fringe Festival on Saturday and Sunday from midday!

Sunset Events are recommending taking the train to Fremantle, as it’s going to be busy! And people going the whole weekend need to keep their wristbands on, and can’t swap them with others.

Blues n Roots

Think you might enjoy blues and roots music, but are not going to the West Coast Blues n Roots Festival?

Head down to Fremantle this weekend anyway for the FREE Fringe Festival! And support local bands while you’re at it!

From midday on Saturday and Sunday, see bands perform at Gino’s on the cappuccino strip, the train station (both till 6pm), in 3 CAT busses(! till 5pm) and on a prawn trawler in the Fishing Harbour at Cicerello’s (till 7pm)!!!

I can vouch for the greatness of many of the acts, especially the ones on the prawn trailer! Mmm, Double Entendre, Simon Kelly, Zarm, Toby, Saritah, Dave Mann… it’s a shame we’re already going to the ‘real’ festival(ok, maybe not!). Next year I reckon many of these acts will be at the main festival too! Everyone starts somewhere, like John Butler busking on the streets of Freo! These bands are already further than that!
See the West Coast Blues n Roots website for the line-up and playing times!

And see my post about the main festival happening in the Esplanade Park. There are still tickets available for Saturday (Wolfmother, John Butler, Gomez, The Cat Empire, Xavier Rudd and many more!).
