Funnily enough there isn’t any thing at all in the calendar for Christmas Day(the outdoor cinemas are showing up, but I don’t think there’s any showings on Christmas Day). So I hope you manage to enjoy yourselves with either family, friends, partners, the tv, the radio, the internet, the outdoors (it’s going to be hot!)….!!

Note: this post has been prepared earlier, I’m away on holiday till the 8th of January!
Hello all!
Here’s wishing you a happy holiday season and an enjoyable 2007! Thanks for reading, commenting, subscribing and contacting me about upcoming events! This blog started as a hobby in April, but has grown into something much bigger, and I look forward to growing more, and learning lots along the way! Even I’m suprised at how many events Perth has going on!
I’m now taking a break for about two weeks. My in laws from The Netherlands are here for four weeks, and we’re heading down to Esperance tomorrow (via Wave Rock) for a few days, celebrating NYE in Fremantle, and on 5/6 January I’ll be at Southbound in Busselton!
Anyway, while I’m away, a few posts that I have prepared earlier will show up! And if you leave a comment but don’t see it show up, that’s because all first time commenters are moderated and have to be approved by me (this is to stop spammers!).
Other reading material:
PerthNorg – read the latest news, become a citizen journalist yourself, or join in by voting and commenting!
Australianblogs.com.au – find blogs about anything and everything (look under the Perth tag!)
Want to try blogging yourself? I think it’s easier than you think, in many ways it’s like sending an email! Try starting with a free wordpress.com blog. I started my first blog (and at the same time first website) in 05, it was to keep family and friends overseas up to date about what we were doing!
Seeyou next year!
The major event of New Years Day, 1 January 2007 in Perth is the Perth Cup at Ascot Racecourse, which incorporates TentLand and Side Track’d, a music festival. See the links for more info.

The Hyundai Hopman Cup is happening at Burswood Dome from 30 December to 5 January 2007.
Australia will be represented by Alicia Molik and Mark Philippoussis, two of Australia’s most successful international players. They play similar styles with massive serves backed up by big forehands so will not be overpowered by the other teams. The Australian team has tasted representative success before – Alicia is the 2004 Olympic Games bronze medallist and Mark Philippoussis is the only Australian Player to win both the Davis Cup (twice) and the Hopman Cup. Alicia will be looking for a successful Hopman Cup to kick off the Australian Summer of Tennis, as occurred two years ago.
Tickets are on sale through Ticketek, and prices start at $24 for the first sessions, and $48 for the final.
See the official website here.
