This morning was the RSPCA Million Paws Walk in South Perth.

There were about 10 thousand dogs at Sir James Mitchell Park, and I didn’t see any fights! About $120000 was raised for the RSPCA.
The Million Paws Walks in other cities will be next month.
Bailey had a bath by Fleastoppers for $8, and all proceeds went to the RSPCA.

There were a few horses and ponies, we saw a ferret on a leash, and the paper says there was a cat too!

Straight after walking we drove to Whiteman Park, to catch up with some friends at Mussel Pool. Whiteman Park is lovely, lots of different sections, lots to do including museums and activities for the kids. And Caversham Wildlife Park is now also situated in the park.

Last night I went to a friends 21st birthday celebration at Little Creatures in Fremantle. It’s a working beer brewery, bar and restaurant! We had two long tables and ate pizza, ‘frites’ and drank red sparkling wine (well, some of us).
Little Creatures is on the harbour in Fremantle:

They always have an artist exhibitioning their work upstairs, and there are often gigs or other happenings. Last night there was an artist making a painting at the door.

Men of the Trees present the City Farm Street Arts Festival in East Perth (next to Claisebrook Train Station) on Saturday 29 April 2006.

There will be various performers and bands, from 8am to 4pm. The weekly organic growers market will be on till 1pm.

That night from 8pm, ‘Compost’ is on, which is a steaming mix of live bands, electronica, art, puppetry and DJ’s. $10 at the door and proceeds go to Unity in Diversity Foundation (Indonesia) and City Farm.

This morning we drove to Kalamunda and walked in Jorgensen and Kalamunda National Park (next to each other), over the Bibbulmun Track.

The nearly 1000km long Bibbulmun Track goes from Albany to Kalamunda and passes through Walpole, Windy Harbour, Balingup and Lane Pool Reserve/Dwellingup.

One day we will walk the whole thing…..

Today we only walked one and a half hours, but it was very steep, and still quite warm in the sun! Still, the way back up the hill wasn’t as bad as I expected, ha ha.

Found a great website this afternoon (a bit late) for walking around the Perth Hills and the Swan Valley: http://www.perthtrails.com.au/.

Pascal went to Fremantle this morning to visit the Arts Centre and buy some art supplies at Jackson’s (woah, they have 14 branches!). He took some nice photo’s.

Tonight when I took Bailey for a walk I took this photo of the sunset.

Went to another gig by our friends ‘Ramble and the Sleepers’ last night, at Mojo’s in North Fremantle, which has been THE place to be for upcoming bands since the 60’s, apparently!

It was a nice, colourful little place, but SHOCK HORROR, I forgot my camera 😉
Anyway, you can listen to some of Ramble’s songs here on myspace, and see Mojo’s here on their website!

We went to the annual street arts festival in Fremantle on Monday, just like last year.
It was a great afternoon, and lovely weather, though a bit chillier than the previous days.

We saw a few more, see flickr.

Circus Joseph Ashton will be in Succes from 7 to 30 April.

Tickets at BOCS.
Later in the year they will be in Midland, Girrawheen and Armadale.

The annual RSPCA Million Paws Walk will be held on Sunday April 30 at Sir James Mitchell Park in South Perth.

Registration is from 8am, and the walking starts at 10am.

You can choose between a 2km or 10km walk.

There will also be many activities, including dogwashing, demonstrations, live entertainment and 10th birthday celebrations.

Today we attended a wedding today at Cottesloe Civic Centre. It was a great afternoon, and the weather turned out perfect! What a beautiful spot!
