Downsyde & Drapht – April 2009

Friday, February 6th, 2009

Downsyde & Drapht tour together in April and perform on Wednesday 1st April at the Foundry, Cannington, Friday 3rd April & Saturday 4th April at the Rosemount Hotel and Sunday 5th April at the Railway Hotel, North Fremantle.

In a treat for the fan of the beat, two of Australia’s favorite hip hop acts are celebrating a huge 2008 by joining together for a massive ‘09. Long time West Coast Kings Downsyde team up with new Prince Drapht, for what will prove to be a tour of royal proportions, with both acts taking their current albums out on the road for a very extensive national jaunt.
It’s the largest tour either act has taken on for years, and to make sure it’s something really special the longtime Syllabollix Crew members are locked up together in a rehearsal room cooking up a combined set that’s going to knock people’s socks off. With the collection of killer cuts from their back catalogue and a long history of working together, “City Brothers Tour” will be a 16 legged beast that is going to bring the thumpin’ jams like no party before.

Tickets for $20 + booking fee from Mills, Planet, Star Perth, www.heatseeker.com.au, www.oztix.com.au,  www.inthemix.com.au

Crossing over to the mainstream and scoring a massive hit both in the UK and in Australia with the track Wearing My Rolex, Wiley has brought his unique Eski Beat sound to the world and cemented himself as one of the most innovative producers in British electronic music.

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

The VinesThe Vines return with a national tour and perform in Perth at the Rosemount Hotel on Saturday 8 November 2008.

After their many well documented trials and tribulations, no one really had the right to expect to find THE VINES in such rude health in 2008, but with the release of MELODIA, the band have come full circle, recording their best album since ‘Highly Evolved’ and playing the finest live shows of their career. Anyone who has witnessed the band’s incendiary sets at Splendour, Homebake or Big Day Out over the past two years will attest to the fact that as a live force they are now nigh on unstoppable.

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

toni_colletteToni Collette & The Finish perform at The Rosemount Hotel on Saturday 10 March and the Fly By Night Club in Fremantle on Sunday 12 March 2007.

This Australian tour follows a few successful shows on the East coast recently, including the Homebake Festival.

If there’s one track on the ‘Beautiful Awkward Pictures’ album that shines more brightly than others, it is ‘Look Up’. Fans, reviewers and radio programmers that have heard the album have all highlighted this track as a glorious and uplifting piece of song writing by Toni Collette, coupled with an arrangement that allows her vocals to really shine and the band to rise with her to heart pounding heights.
