Steve Coogan Live – 14 April 09

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Steve Coogan comes to Australia for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, but also performs at the Perth Convention Centre on Tuesday 14 April 2009.

Coogan, genius creator of Alan Partridge, Paul & Pauline Calf and a myriad of other laugh-inducing, cringe-worthy yet achingly familiar comic character creations, is undertaking his first Australian live performances.
Boasting Perrier, BAFTA & numerous British Comedy Awards, Steve Coogan has also made a name for himself in a swag of acting roles, most notably Tony Wilson in Michael Winterbottom’s 24 Hour Party People and most recently as a British film director in Ben Stiller’s Tropic Thunder.

Tickets on sale via Ticketek from 11 March.

Cheech & Chong – 26 April 09

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

Cheech & Chong perform their ‘Light Up Australia’ show on Sunday 26 April 2009 at the Riverside Theatre, Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.

Cheech and Chong are back on the road for the first time in more than 25 years bringing their wonderfully wacky humour down under with a tour that has received rave reviews in Amercia and includes the infectiously funny Shelby Chong.
This is a duo who can turn any experience into the basis of a comedy sketch – like Chong’s short prison sentence for selling glass pipes or Cheech’s sudden appearance in a skin-tight tattooed bodysuit under a pink tutu, topped off with Mickey Mouse ears and a Mardi Gras mask!
And there’s a lot more to these two irreverent alternative kings of comedy. Cheech had a recurring role in the hit television series Lost, and a guest appearance on Grey’s Anatomy, while Chong began his career as a musician before appearing in the film National Lampoon’s Senior Trip and playing the role of Leo in television’s That 70s Show, as well as guesting on Dharma and Greg.

Chong’s wife of 33 years, Shelby, is supporting the pair with an opening stand up routine.

Tickets from Ticketek for $75 or $97.
