Little Birdy ’secret show’ – Friday 12 Jan 07

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

The next MySpace Secret Show is this Friday, 12 January 2007.

Little Birdy are performing a free, 18+ gig at Mojo’s Bar in North Fremantle.

Strange choice of location, it’s not just small, it’s tiny! It is cool though! :D Going by Little Birdy’s myspace they changed locations, so maybe they had to find a new location at short notice…

Doors open at 7pm, but I recommend getting their as early as possible (I don’t know how early…).
You don’t need tickets, it’s just first there is first in!

The Secret Shows myspace page says you need to make them a friend to find out the details, but they’re now free for all, as Little Birdy posted about it on their myspace!

Via PerthMusic and Grum, thanks guys!

2006_06_22_1351.jpg

Once again when went to Mojo’s in North Fremantle to see our friends Ramble and the Sleepers play. They were supporting Simon London & the Spirits, who we were very impressed with (a lot more rock and less roots than we expected)! Simon London & the Spirits were headed off for a national tour, and will be back playing in Perth at the Newport Hotel on 30 July 06.

At the start of the evening ‘Empty State’ played, they are a very young Perth band who I think we will be seeing more of.

Crimson were going to finish the night off with an acoustic set, but we didn’t stick around for that, we’d had enough action for a weeknight! :D

2006_06_22_1348.jpgMojo’s are open 7 days a week, and there is live music most nights.

In July there will be stand up comedy on 3 Tuesdays (the 4th, 11th and 25th), and as part of the Perth International Film Festival Revelation, there will be S.P.L.I.F. on July 18: Screening Perth’s Local Independent Films, combined with live music by The Ben Gray Band.

Mojo’s Freo and Ramble and the Sleepers

Thursday, April 20th, 2006

Went to another gig by our friends ‘Ramble and the Sleepers’ last night, at Mojo’s in North Fremantle, which has been THE place to be for upcoming bands since the 60’s, apparently!

It was a nice, colourful little place, but SHOCK HORROR, I forgot my camera ;)
Anyway, you can listen to some of Ramble’s songs here on myspace, and see Mojo’s here on their website!
