The Grates have announced a national tour. They’ll perform at Capitol in Perth on Saturday 25 October 2008.

With their upcoming new album “Teeth Lost, Hearts Won” already getting young hearts a flutter ahead of its early August release, The Grates get ready to give fans a coronary with the announcement of a major national tour throughout October. “Teeth Lost, Hearts Won”, builds on the success of The Grates’ debut album “Gravity Won’t Get You High” which debuted in the Top Ten of the ARIA charts, earned them critical praise and numerous accolades and saw releases in the USA, UK, Europe, Canada and NZ.

Support is by The Vasco Era and The John Steel Singers.

VNV Nation VNV Nation return to Australia and perform at Sin Nightclub in Perth on Sunday 17 August 2008.

After their impressive 2005 Australian performances, Irish futurepop visionaries VNV nation are back this coming August, and will be performing highlights from their 2007 album ‘Judgement’ plus a plethora of crowd favourites from their extensive back catalogue, which spans five albums and twelve years.

VNV Nation (aka Ronan Harris – production, music and lyrics, and Mark Jackson – drums), continue to leap from strength to strength and have emerged as a powerhouse in the alternative electronic and industrial scenes. Their unique blend of contemporary electronic styles, industrial, rock and dance elements, thematic lyrics and inspiring, emotive vocals ranges from hard-hitting modern electronic beats to haunting ballads and symphonic orchestrations.

After spending the early nineties as bass player in Kyuss and the early years of this decade alongside Josh Homme in Queens Of The Stone Age, Nick Oliveri is finally bringing his own band The Mondo Generator to Australia for the first time to play four shows in August.

Stray CatsThe Stray Cats return to Australia for their Farewell World Tour.

Brian Setzer, Slim Jim Phantom and Lee Rocker will perform at Fremantle Arts Centre on Sunday 15 February 2009.

Formed in 1979 the STRAY CATS took the world by storm with their infectious rockabilly musical stylings and frenetic live shows. Garnering fans in England helped them achieve chart topping success there first, with the rest of the world quickly following suit and turning on to the greatest rockabilly act of all time.

Having created their own version of the standard rockabilly sound by blending Brian’s jazz & swing sensibilities with the band’s love of the 70’s UK punk sound, the Stray Cats have built up a devoted following and maintained an enviable live reputation throughout their 30 year career.

The host of the runaway ABC TV hit ‘The Gruen Transfer’ and Triple M’s national drive show, Wil still finds time for his first love, ’stand up’, performing to sell out crowds at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and the Sydney Opera House earlier this year.

Billy Joel – 23 November 2008

Billy JoelAfter touring Australia in 2006, Billy Joel returns to Perth and will perform at Members Equity Stadium on Sunday 23 November 2008.

Billy Joel is one of this century’s greatest musicians. Winning six Grammy Awards, selling in excess of 150 million albums worldwide, being inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and also the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame are just a few of the accolades Billy has clocked up over the years. Indeed it is thirty years since the release of Billy’s landmark album ‘The Stranger’. To celebrate this anniversary, Sony BMG are issuing ‘The Stranger 30th Anniversary Legacy’ edition with a bonus disc of live tracks.

It’s an all ages show, and tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster from 25 July, prices start at around $100.

Ladytron – 5 October 2008

LadytronUK indie-electro band Ladytron come to Australia for their debut live tour, and perform in Perth at the The Bakery Artrage Complex.

Credited with popularising the ill-fated electroclash sound well before the genre even had a name, Ladytron have lived on long after the many bandwagon jumpers fell by the wayside. Their latest album, ‘Velocifero’, was produced by Alessandro Cortini of Nine Inch Nails and Vicarious Bliss of the Ed Banger label.

Swedish electro-pop duo Familjen will be the support act.
