Baby Animals – 18 January 2008

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

Baby Animals After a silence of 13 years, successful Australian rock band The Baby Animals
(originally from Perth!) have reformed, and are touring Australia.
They will perform at Metro City on 18 January 2008, with The Dirty Secrets supporting.

After initially feeling a little nervous about getting together again, Suze DeMarchi, Dave Leslie (guitar), Eddie Parise (bass) and Frank Celenza (drums) hit the rehearsal studios and clicked straight back into that rocking place that made us all love them. So good in fact that plans are now under way to record a new ‘Rock’ record mid 2008. The Baby Animals have recorded an album for the now legendary Liberation Blue Acoustic series.

Tickets are $38.50 from Ticketmaster.

WeenWeen return to Australia, and perform at Club Capitol in Perth on Tuesday 4 March 2008.

Ten years we’ve been waiting – for the return of Pennsylvania-via-New Jersey’s finest export since the Amish rocking chair, WEEN.
Just think.. since that time, WEEN have released four gloriously deranged studio albums (including the most recent La Cucuracha), between them, featuring such stone(r) cold classics as Flutes of Chi, Hey There Fancypants, Gabrielle, Friends & Spirit Walker and we haven’t seen WEEN perform any of those tracks live, EVER!

Tickets on sale through BOCS Ticketing or Moshtix for about $55.00 (BOCS Sold out not sure about Moshtix)

Doors open 8pm and Ween start at 8.30 sharp! There’s no support act.

Not only has the five-piece resolutely defied both popular trends and fickle public tastes throughout its career, but Dream Theater’s sound and approach is more vibrant, powerful and wide-ranging than ever. They seamlessly encompass the many varieties of heavy, epic, punishing complex rock that has drawn legions of fans to the band’s monumental catalog of releases and dynamic, marathon live shows.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – 6 January 2008

Monday, November 19th, 2007

Black Rebel Motor Cycle Club Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have already been announced for Southbound Festival (sold out), but they’ve added a side show at Metropolis in Fremantle on Sunday 6 January 2008.

Sparse, literate and full of deeply hypnotic killer tunes, ‘Howl’ was always going to be a hard act to follow. Not fazed, Black Rebel Motorcycle has come out swinging and have never sounded more self assured. Delivering potent, intelligent, memorable melodies with a noisy cohesion and howling passion, they’ve never succumbed to the safe path or released records to please the suits.

It’s an 18+ gig.

Tickets are around $60 from Sunset Events or BOCS Ticketing.
