The Police in Perth – 1 + 2 Feb 08

The Police (Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers) will tour Australia in 2008, and perform in Perth on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 February 2008 at Members Equity Stadium.

In 1977, The Police stormed the music scene by blending reggae, punk, jazz and rock. They created an unmistakably nuanced sound filled with evocative melodies, infectious lyrics and rock & roll swagger. The Police dominated the top of the charts and radio airwaves worldwide with five #1 albums and a succession of top 10 hit singles. In the six years they were together, The Police became one of the world’s most famous bands, earning six Grammy Awards and countless fans around the globe.

A portion of the proceeds from this tour will be donated to WaterAid, dedicated to reducing poverty by improving access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.

The Beach Boys will perform at Perth Zoo with special guests Christopher Cross and Daddy Cool on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 November 2007!

With songs like “California Girls”, “Good Vibrations’, “Wouldn’t It Be Nice”, “Surfin’ USA”, “Kokomo”, “Help Me Rhonda”, “Barbara Ann” and countless others, The Beach Boys are one of the most influential and successful bands in pop history.

The Beach Boys, headed by singer Mike Love, will be playing all the classic hits that so perfectly epitomized the Californian lifestyle and propelled them to sales of more than 100 million albums, 32 American Platinum and Gold awards, induction into the Rock’n’Roll Hall Of Fame and the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys, to name just a few of their many staggering achievements.

The tour’s special guests are the mighty Daddy Cool, Ross Wilson reforming the original line-up for their first concert tour in 33 years(!). Plus the multi-Grammy award-winning performer Christopher Cross.

Just a note: this line-up of the Beach Boys does not include Brian Wilson.
