PowderfingerThe humongous Spring tour is an opportunity for literally hundreds of thousands of Aussie fans to partake in what will be a huge event in every location it visits. Most regional centres on the expansive itinerary won’t have seen a rock & roll show like this since tours by the likes of Midnight Oil and INXS in the 1980s.

POWDERFINGER and SILVERCHAIR have chosen to use the shows to draw attention to a cause which is close to the hearts of the members of both bands – reconcile.org.au This website fronts a campaign aimed at reducing the 17-year gap in life expectancy between Indigenous and non-Indigenous children. reconcile.org.au reaches across the historic divide in respect, trust and understanding to generate a national conversation about bridging the gap.

John Butler Trio – September 07

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

JBT

Second show announced: 3 September! On sale 9am Thursday 14th!

John Butler Trio is on tour throughout Australia in August, but hadn’t announced a Perth date yet! Well now they have! They will be performing at Perth Concert Hall on 2 and 3 September 2007, with Josh Pyke and band.

The ‘Grand National Tour’ will be truly Carbon Neutral, in another word: green!

Emissions associated with the tour (such as concert electricity generated from the shows, air and road transportation including touring party and freight) will be calculated and a reinvestment will be made into renewable energy projects. This will effectively balance out the impact the ‘Grand National’ tour will have on the climate and is a positive investment to assist the current situation of global warming. People travelling to the concert by carbon transport will be able to purchase a green ticket which will incur an extra cost of 50 cents – this money will also be donated to renewable energy projects to help make this a truly carbon neutral tour.

Tickets are on sale from BOCS. This will be a licensed and all ages show. It commences at 7.30pm, so get there on time if you don’t want to miss Josh Pyke!

Tickets are around $50, and Green ticket are only 50 Cents more! Read more about the Carbon Neutral initiative.
