What’s on in Perth – 16 to 22 April

The highlights of what’s on in Perth, Western Australia this week(end), from Monday 16 to Sunday 22 April 2007.

Festivals/expos etc:

National Youth Week 2007 from Saturday 14 to Sunday 22 April 2007, many free events, including the official closing party, a freestyle hip hop festival at Perth Cultural Centre on Sunday!

Perth Motor Show at PCEC from Friday 20 to Wednesday 25 Aprl 2007.

City Farm Street Arts Festival at City Farm on Saturday 21 April 07.

Alpaca Fiesta at Whiteman Park on Saturday and Sunday from 10 till 3.

Taste in the Valley, showcasing the Swan Valley’s food, wine, arts, music and local produce is held over four weekends in April.

Music

The Spooky Men of the West at Perth Town Hall on 17 April 2007.

Pink at Challenge Stadium – 18, 19 and 20 April and 2 + 3 June 2007.

Lunchtime concerts are on again at His Majesty’s Theatre on Thurdays from 12.30 to 1.30pm.

In The Sticks – Rock music youth festival at Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre on Friday 20 April from 5pm.

America at Burwsood Theatre, 20 April 2007

Totally Huge New Music Festival from 20 April to 6 May 2007 at various locations. Welcome Concert at Freo Arts Centre on Sunday evening.

Lloyd Cole at Fly By Night on Saturday 21 April 07.

Cultural Infusion’s WA Freestyle Hip Hop Festival at Perth Cultural Centre on Sunday 22 April. (closing of Youth Week).

Wilco at Metropolis on Sunday evening, with Glenn from Augie March as support.

Two Weeks with the Queen by WA Youth Theatre Company at Subiaco Arts Centre from Thursday 19 to Saturday 28 April 2007.

Cats (musical/ theatre) at the Regal Theatre in Subiaco from 11 to 21 April 07.

Inner Voices by Curtin’s Hayman Theatre Company at Rechabites’ Hall from 17 to 21 April 07.

Spare Parts Puppet Theatre’s The Little Prince (for 5 to 15 yo) from 31 March to 21 April 07.

Circus Joseph Ashton is in Cockburn till 29 April.

Phaedra’s Love by Corazon de Vaca is performed at PICA from Wednesday 11 to 22 April.

Other:

Telethon’s Fat Cat Concert at Burswood Dome on Monday.

Free matinee film screenings have started again at the Alexander Library in Perth, each Wednesday from 12.30 at the Perth Cultural Centre (north of central train station), until November.

The Fremantle Village Art Markets are held from 10am to 5.30pm every Thursday until the end of April.

The Mandjar Markets are held at the Waterfront in Mandurah every Sunday from 1 to 5pm until the end of April.
