The bands were sensational, the choir and the little soloist were wonderful, the dramas were thought-provoking and well acted, the OzScot and Tongan dancers were both colourful and skilful, our own young naval cadet drill team with their drums and cutlasses added a nice touch and the tribute to the firies and the veterans was touching and appropriate. The only downside (not only my own opinion, but that of all those sitting around me) was the choice of music sung by Deni Hines and Anthony Callea in the first half of the programme. It didn't seem to fit with the atmosphere or theme of the evening. And where was the Chinese Army Dance Ensemble? I also wouldn't say that the lighting was extraordinary. However, the giant screen was an excellent addition, not only giving close-up shots of the performers on the arena, but also giving war footage and other backdrops that were appropriate.
