Rumour: Pixies for Rock It on 5 April 2007? (Blackjack!)

Saturday, January 20th, 2007

Update 13 Feb: Blackjack Festival is announced(instead of Rock-It) with Pixies, Gnarls Barkley, Eskimo Joe, The Living End and more. See post here! (thanks Mike for your comment below!)
Update 9 Feb: Thanks to the guys below in the comments below alerting to the fact that on the Pixies (unofficial?) myspace it says that they are playing RockIt on 5 April. I still can’t find it confirmed elsewhere but I’ll keep an eye out!

Post from 20 January:

Heatseeker reports that they’ve heard a rumour that US rock act the Pixies will be coming to Perth for the next edition of Rock iT in April 2007!
Now considering Heatseeker is always involved in organising Rock iT (or at least selling the tickets), I think there’s a good chance that this rumour is true!

They also say another international act is tipped to be on the bill, along with the usual high quality Australian artists (at the last Rock iT Silverchair was the headlner, and the one before it was the Foo Fighters).

Someone actually commented on my other post about Rock-iT here, that they’d heard the Red Hot Chill Peppers were coming, but I do doubt that. The source for this rumour about The Pixies is much more realistic!

As usual, I’ll keep you updated, even if it means posting on a Saturday afternoon ;)

Rock iT is usually held at Arena Joondalup.

Link: Heatseeker website

Update: I just remembered I was going to keep an eye on The Pixies, because they had been announced for the V Festival (which is only happening on the East coast), and I though they might come over here too. Gnarls Barkley is one of the other big acts for the V Festival, so I’ll keep an eye on them too! Update 13 Feb: ha, so Gnarls Barkley is the other act! :D
