Music

Elton John performs at the Burswood Dome tonight…

The Sensitive New Age Cowpersons are singing their Final Farewell at Clancy’s in Freo on the Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The Black Sorrows perform at the Woodvale Tavern on Wednesday, the High Road Tavern in Riverton on Saturday and Friends Restaurant on Sunday.

Mick Thomas & The Sure Thing perform at Friends Restaurant on Thursday, the Leopold in Bicton on Saturday and the Oxford in Leederville on Sunday.

A Compassion Christmas Concert with Andy James Court is held at IMAX Theatre in Northbridge on Thursday night.

Tapes ‘n Tapes are performing at the Amplifier Bar on Thursday.

Roman J Wilde is performing at the Breakwater Tavern in Hillarys on Thursday.

A new live music venue, the Loud Lounge, launches on Thursday night with The Fuzz and The Dee Dee Dums and more in the city (Cassette night location).

Xavier Rudd, Lior and Carus perform at Belvoir Amphitheatre on Friday evening (and near Margaret River on Saturday).

A Christmas Extravaganza with a four course dinner, the band Mental As Anything will be held at Burswood on Friday evening.

Another Christmas Concert as part of the City of Perth Christmas Festival is held on Friday night from 7pm at Forrest Place.
And there’s lots of free Christmas Carol Concerts being held in local parks, mainly on Sunday night.

Amon Tobin & Kid Koala (Ninjatunes) perform at the Bakery in Northbridge on Friday night.

The Bullet Holes launch their new EP at the Fly By Night on Friday night.

The Drones perform at the Amplifier Bar on Saturday and Mojos on Sunday.
Avalore are launching their EP at an all ages gig at HQ Leederville on Saturday afternoon/evening and at the Newport in Freo on Sunday night.

Noel Gallagher performs acoustically with Gem on Saturday night at the Perth Concert Hall, but the concert sold out very quickly.

Joe Camilleri performs at Friends Restaurant on Sunday night.

Free music every Sunday: Freo Arts Centre courtyard music, and Sunset@Subi in Subiaco.

Performing Arts / Comedy / Theatre / Circus

Swan Lake is performed by Academy of Ballet & Performance and Danse Classique at the Perth Concert Hall on Tuesday night.

1, 2, 3, and the Dog is performed by PACS at the Blue Room till Saturday.

The Nutcracker, the quintessential Christmas ballet is being performed at the Regal Theatre in Subiaco from Friday until Sunday 17 December.

Kevin Bloody Wilson performs at Burswood Theatre on Saturday, but it has sold out.

Other
Festival of Cricket: the Ashes Urn & Howzat! Exhibition is on at WA Museum and the HIF Cricket Village is set up in Forrest Place from 11am to 2pm from Monday to Wednesday. The Legends Twenty20 match is on Tuesday and the Ashes begin on Thursday.

The Outdoor Cinema season has started, with Lotterywest Festival Films at Somerville at UWA and Joondalup Pines, Camelot Outdoor Cinema in Mosman park, Moonlight Cinema in King’s Park and Luna Outdoor in Leederville!

Skating on a skating rink (special surface, not ice) at Whitford City from 9am to 9pm.

On Tuesday the Mandurah Community Christmas Pageant and Foreshore Party is held, with santa, christmas carols and fireworks!

The weekly Fremantle Village Arts Markets are held every Thursday throughout summer, and the Joondalup Sunset Markets are held every Friday evening.

The Guildford Heritage Christmas Art and Craft Market is held on Sunday from 10am to 10pm at the Guildford Town Hall precinct.
