Festival of Cricket - Ashes - 2006
Well, cricket fever is going to hit WA in December with the Ashes Test being played at the WACA from 14 to 18 December 2006. Tickets sold out very quickly, so if you want to see it with a crowd anyway, check out the free Live Cricket site in Northbridge.
There will be a huge screen set up on the corner of James and Lake Streets (Northbridge Piazza), where you’ll be able to follow the Channel 9 coverage, from the start till end of play.
The HIF Cricket Village will be at Forrest Place in the city from Monday 11 to Wednesday 13 December, where cricket will be on show, and there will be activities and guest appearances.
There’s lots of other cricket events happening in December, with the Lilac Hill match on 8 December, the Tour Match on 9 and 10, the Legends Twenty20 on 12 December and the Ashes Urn Exhibition at the WA Museum from 10 to 20 December. From 11 December to 1 February there’s also a cricket exhibition at the State Library.
See the Cricket City Perth website for all the details and links to buy tickets for some of the events still on sale.
And for all the latest news about the Ashes, keep an eye on the blog This Perth Life, they’re doing a much better job than I with covering the cricket news!
