The 14th Blues at Bridgetown Festival will be held on Friday 10, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 November this year. Last year about 16,000 people attended and it sold out.

I’ve secured our tickets once again (this is my 7th Blues, I lived in Bridgetown for a few years as a teenager), and we’d have a great time regardless of the line-up, as we love blues (and roots) music, and it’s just a great atmosphere.
But for those who’d like a few more reasons to make the three and half hour drive down from Perth, acts this year include: Dave Hole, Serena Ryder, Ash Grunwald, The Kill Devil Hills, The Audreys, Hat Fitz, The Australian Blues Brothers Show, The Flood, Dallas Frasca, Nathan Gaunt, Kelly Auty’s ‘Wild Women Show’ and many more. See the full list of artists here. It’s a whole range of different types of blues music.

On Saturday there’s a huge free street party. The South Western Highway gets closed off, and there’s markets, street theatre and music all along the main street.

To get into the main venues (all close together, you can walk between them), the following tickets are available:
Friday only – don’t know the price, but only available on the day, from 9am at the visitors centre.
Saturday only – $80, available through the Blues website or Ticketmaster (booking fee applies).
Weekend (Fri, Sat and Sun) – $120 through Blues website or Ticketmaster (booking fee applies).

Now the only problem you have if you want to go the whole weekend… accomodation! Just about everything is booked full, including the special camping grounds. There’s only unpowered sites at the Budget Camping, but you can’t book these, so I expect you’d have to get there quite early on Friday to secure a spot. My best advice is to try surrounding towns like Balingup, Boyup Brook, Nannup, Manjimup, Donnelly River and Donnybrook, though I even expect those to be quite full… Good luck!
