Music

Daniel O’Donnell, an ‘easy listening’ entertainer from Ireland, is performing at Burswood Theatre on Wednesday night.

Eskimo Joe are performing at Capitol on Thursday and Metropolis on Friday, both shows have sold out.

Kasey Chambers is performing at the Perth Convention Centre on Thursday night. Tickets through Ticketmaster.

I Walk the Line, a tribute to Johnny Cash and June Carter (and guest tribute to Dolly Parton), is happening at Burswood Theatre on Friday night. Gary Mac (from Pulp Fiction) plays Johnny Cash. Tickets are $55/60 and available through Ticketek.

Artreyu (USA) are performing at Club Capitol on Friday night and the same place on Saturday for an under 18’s gig.

Hed Kandi is happening at Ambar Nightclub on Friday night. Featuring David Dunn, Jonny Gleeson, Cisco and others.
Songs from the Mountain, featuring WA folk and blues artists performing songs in the tradition of ‘O! Brother! Where Art Thou!’ and ‘Walk The Line’, is happening at the Fly By Night Musicians Club in Freo on Saturday night. Tickets $28/26 through BOCS. It sold out last year, so watch out!

Richard Marx will be performing his Greatest Hits Tour at Burswood Theatre on Saturday night. Tickets $80/90 through Ticketek.

Australian hip-hop outfit The Herd will be performing at the Rosemount Hotel on Saturday night and Mojo’s Bar on Sunday night (sold out).
Chris Carrabba will be performing with his band Dashboard Confessional at the Perth Concert Hall on Sunday night. Tickets are $53.65 through BOCS.

Performing Arts

Lano & Woodley are saying ‘Good Bye’ at the Regal Theatre from 6 to 24 September. Ticket prices range from $30 to $42 depending on when you go, and available through BOCS.

A Chorus Line, a musical presented by the WA Stage School, will be performed at Subiaco Arts Centre from Tuesday until Saturday.

Source, a play presented by Phoenix Theatre will be performed at the Memorial Hall in Hamilton Hill from 7 to 16 September.

Circus Joseph Ashton is in Stirling until Sunday 10 September.

Scarecrow (a tale of mythic proportions, with a surreal script) by Side Pony Productions is on at The Blue Room till 9 September.

The Trojan Women, presented by Curtin’s Hayman Theatre Company, will be performed at the Rechabites’ Hall from Thursday to Saturday 9 September.

The Targa West Rally is happening from Thursday to Sunday in and around Perth. All details here.

The Great Australian Marsupial Nightstalk is happening this month. Join the Perth Zoo hosted walk at Garvey Park in Redcliffe on Friday night. You need to register, all details here.

The WA Scale Model Expo is being held on Saturday and Sunday at South Perth Civic Centre from 10am to 5pm.

On Wednesday evening from 5.30pm you can taste wines from Coonawarra, when their wine tasting roadshow comes to the Perth Town Hall. Entry is $25.

The Perth Money Show is on at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre from Friday untill Sunday.

The Spring Poetry Festival is being held from 1 to 10 September. There are lots of events happening, mostly at a marquee in Forrest Place, The Bakery ARTRAGE Complex and the Art Gallery of WA.
Springtime at Araluen Botanic Park, Roleystone. See tulips and other bulbs and flowers in a park that is pretty even when there aren’t flowers!
