Araluen Folk Festival - 29 Sept to 2 Oct 06
The Araluen Folk Festival is in it’s 9th year, but I think it may be lesser known because it’s quite a small and intimate festival (and they like it that way!).
Nonetheless, I definitely think it is worth mentioning, as it sounds lovely.
It is held at Camp Simons in Roleystone, opposite Araluen Botanical Park, so a stunning location in the hills. Camp Simons is a hostel, and there is dormitory accommodation and camping available. There is also a Dining Hall where meals can be purchased (there won’t be any food stalls).
The line up includes Margret RoadKnight (Brisbane), Faerd (Celtic/Scandinavian fusion from Sweden and Denmark), Stiff Gins (NSW) and the Dave Mann Collective (Perth).
Tickets are $75 for a standard weekend pass and children under 16 get in free. For much more information about accommodation (extra charge) and other tickets, please see the BOCS Ticketing website.
As the dates in the title show, this festival is held on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend.
