WA's Giant Walk

On Friday 1 September at 12 noon, WA wants to break the Guinness World Record for walking 1km simultaneously (multi-venue). This is going to be part of ‘Be Active WA Day’.

To find a walking venue near you check out the WA Giant Walk website.

Most walks are being held on sports ovals and local parks.

In central Perth there are walks in King’s Park, Langley Park, the Supreme Court Gardens, Lake Monger, Herdsman Lake, Matilda Bay Foreshore and Riverside Drive, but from this list it seems that nearly every local council in WA is participating!

Dave Hughes – 16 + 17 March 07

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006

Hughesy rides again!

Dave Hughes (you’d know him from ABC’s The Glass House and the Holden ads) is back in Perth on 16 and 17 March 2007 for his National Tour.

He will be performing at the Regal Theatre in Subiaco, and standard tickets are $38 ($34 conc) and available now through BOCS.

It all started at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in 1999 when Hughesy was forced to move from a tiny upstairs bar in the city into a 300-seat room at the Melbourne Town Hall. Word had started to spread about this impossibly laid back guy from Warrnambool.

Dave’s performance at that year’s Comedy Festival Gala got the industry and the public’s attention. At the end of the second week Dave was selling his new venue out and the reigning King of Comedy was born.
