West Coast Blues and Roots Festival

Made our way to the West Coast Blues & Roots in Fremantle yesterday, just like last year. The line up was even more amazing, all for $93.
It started at 11am and finished at 11pm, with more than 20 acts.

We saw Blue Shaddy (Perth), Ash Grunwald (Melbourne), Carus and the True Believers (Perth), Josh Pyke (Sydney), The Beautiful Girls (Sydney), Mia Dyson (winner of the ARIA for Blues & Roots album of the year).
After some food, with in the background Jamie Cullum(UK), we was Pete Murray (Brisbane), Donavon Frankenreiter (California, US), Damian ‘jnr Gong’ Marley, (son of Bob Marley), Bernard Fanning and finally Michael Franti (without Spearhead), who turned it into one big jam session with Jackson Browne, Donavon Frankenreiter, Jamie Cullum and more.
Was a lot of fun, everyone jumping and singing!!

West Coast Blues and Roots – 8 April 06

This Saturday, April 8th, the West Coast Blues and Roots is on again in Fremantle. The organisers (sunset events) have said it will be bigger and better than last year. There will be a better site layout, it will be 18+ and there will be less tickets sold!
A few of the acts include Jackson Browne, Bernard Fanning, Michael Franti, Pete Murray and Jamie Callum, Damian Marley and Mia Dyson.

But there are many more acts, and a few side shows, so check out the website.

Bob Geldof 18 April 06

Bob Geldof will be performing at the Perth Concert Hall on Tuesday 18 April, as part of the West Coast Blues and Roots Festival.

Hilltop Hoods 22 + 23 April 06

Hip hop act from Adelaide, the Hilltop Hoods are touring the country and will be performing at Metro City on April 22nd.
They will be joined by Downsyde, Tzu, Funkoars, Cross Bred Mongrels, Hermitude and DJ Snair.
On Sunday 23 April they will perform an all ages show at Heat Nightclub (without Downsyde).

Beth Orton 23 April 06

Beth Orton (UK) will be performing at His Majesty’s Theatre on Sunday April 23rd.

Nickelback 24 April 06

Canadian rock group Nickelback will be performing at the Burswood Dome on Monday April 24th.

Josh Pyke 26/28/30 April 06

Singer songwriter Josh Pyke will be performing at the Blues and Roots in Freo, but also has 3 other shows around Perth, supported by Bob Evans and Laura Imbruglia.

Friday 28 April: Rosemount Hotel, North Perth
Sunday 30 April: Balmoral Tavern, Victoria Park

Fremantle Boating Festival 28-30 April 06

Tuesday, April 4th, 2006

The inaugral Fremantle Boating Festival will take place at the Esplanade Park, and will be a free event and include lots of fun for the kids.
Not only will there be info about boats, but also canoeing, cooking, cruising, fishing, jet boating, lessons, relaxing, sailing, shopping and wine tasting.
