The Canning Stock Route exhibition is a uniquely Western Australian story, and will serve as a major cultural backdrop when the world focuses on Perth for CHOGM.
Following CHOGM, it will be open free to the public for a limited season, Wednesday 2 – Sunday 27 November 2011.
Take an epic journey along the Canning Stock Route through the eyes of some of Australia’s leading contemporary Aboriginal artists. Yiwarra Kuju explores Western Australia’s remote desert region through Dreaming stories, painting, sculpture, cultural artefacts, film, photography and award-winning multimedia.
This landmark exhibition is supported by a rich public events program, which includes interpretive tours by Aboriginal curators and filmmakers and outdoor projections of short films and photography.
This exhibition, supported by the WA Government, was developed by the National Museum of Australia in partnership with FORM.
