Second Samuel at Subiaco Arts Centre
KANSAS-born Nat Martin has come to Perth to star in the southern American comedy Second Samuel, written by Pulitzer Prize nominee Pamela Parker, from the end of April.
Opening at the Subiaco Arts Centre on April 29, Martin is reprising his role as Ulysses Simpson – known as “US” – a character he has played since 1987 across the United States on national and regional tours.
Presented by Playlovers and directed by Susan Hayward, Second Samuel is set in a sleepy, 1940s rural town where the population is preparing for a funeral – but when dark secrets are suddenly revealed, it becomes a summer no one will forget.
Using a blend of charm, wit and humour, the play is a journey of discovery with the message that it is okay to be different.
Along with an outstanding Perth cast lineup and original music written and composed by Tommy Thompson, Second Samuel will perform an exclusive season at the Subiaco Arts Centre from April 29 to May 8.
