Perth Folk and Roots Club

Perth Folk and Roots Club is back with folk and roots music at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 28th April 2019 with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club and City of Stirling. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley.

For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has Robbie Jalapeno and John Howard. ‘Perth Folk and Roots Club welcomes back Robbie Jalapeno and John Howard at Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club ‘, said Keith Anthonisz, President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club.

Robbie Jalapeno is the founder of The Faceless Bureaucrats in 2010 and combines acoustic guitar with funk. His fellow musicians reflect the diverse nature of his music with support players having classical backgrounds, independent band backgrounds and cabaret. Robbie Jalapeno and The Faceless Bureaucrats have released three singles, and an album called ‘Songs About Nothing’. Their music has been described as ‘the sound of a dingy cellar café at midnight, glass of rouge in hand, smoke trailing around the stage’ in a review by Cam Findlay of themusic.com.au.

John Howard is a Perth based singer/songwriter who released his debut 12 track CD ‘So it Goes’ on 1st January 2018. The album was produced with assistance from Mike DeVelta and Alan Dawson of Empire Blues. Johns songs are all in the Folk/Rock/Country genre and Johns musical influences include Mark Knopler, Eric Clapton, JJ Cale, Tony Joe White, and The Proclaimers. The So it Goes CD has been played on Alan Dawson’s “Twilight Zone” program on Fremantle Radio and has had some very positive feedback. John has been a regular supporter of Perth Folk and Roots shows and his CD release provides the Club with an opportunity to return this support.

‘As always we are also looking for up and coming artists to do a few numbers for the audience’, Keith added.

Please note the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club is hosting the Perth Folk and Roots Club as a free event for its members and guests with memberships offered at a very reasonable cost to Perth Folk and Roots Club supporters.
