Norfolk Lanes Youth Festival 2011
The City of Fremantle’s Norfolk Lanes Youth Festival is for young people who love music and is a part of Australia’s longest running festival - the Fremantle Festival.
This free event returns on Saturday 3 December 2011 and will be offering an outstanding line-up, featuring some of Australia’s finest young acts including Grace Woodroofe, Emma Louise (QLD), The Novocaines, San Cisco, Bastians Happy Flight, Slackjaw, Georgi Kay, Patient Little Sister, Custom Royal, Rainy Day Women, Blue Lucy, Billie Rogers, Tim Gordon and My Big Gig winner, with more acts to be announced.

Norfolk Lanes Youth Festival will take place in Norfolk Lane, Essex Street and X-Wray Cafe, with a full stage program featuring exciting, young bands and artists, collectors and kitsch market stalls, pop-up art galleries, live art displays and more.
City of Fremantle Community Development Director, Marisa Spaziani, said the Norfolk Lanes Youth Festival was a unique opportunity to showcase not only some great local and national acts, but also the historical laneways and streets of Fremantle.
Norfolk Lanes Youth Festival has previously featured some of Australia's finest bands including Tame Impala and Tim & Jean and in its 3rd year continues to provide a platform for the amazing, young local bands that emerge from Fremantle, and national bands to perform at a unique event in Fremantle.
Norfolk Lanes has offered a playing spot to the winner of My Big Gig, a West Australian high school band competition with over 100 schools competing. All of the acts playing Norfolk Lanes Youth Festival are under the age of 25 providing inspiration to young people to play and enjoy music.
Norfolk Lanes Youth Festival runs from midday to 7pm and with more great acts to be announced, this year’s festival is not to be missed.
