Natural New Zealand Music Festival 2011

With a superbly selected line-up, NNZMF packs the crème de la crème of Aotearoa’s finest musicians including Kiwi-Reggae superstars Katchafire, The Black Seeds and Kiwi Dub sensation, Tiki Taane.

Other artists include New Zealand Hip-Hop legend Che-Fu with his band The Kratez, Kiwi queen of Soul, Hollie Smith, and local Kiwi Perth acts, Tyna and the Speekeasy Crew, Howie Morgan Trio and Sounds Suspect.

Industry leader in Kiwi music promotions, NNZMF Director Brian Terry says the nine-hour long festival is a first of its kind and is gearing up to be the most important program in the NZ music calendar this year.
More than just your ordinary music festival, this New Zealand music marathon will be a massive celebration of the Kiwi culture and spirit, bringing together New Zealanders and Australians from across the country.

“NZA Music stands for ‘New Zealand in Australia’ and there’s no doubt that there are plenty more of us now calling Australia home,” says Brian.“That said, we never lose that sense of who we are or where we come from and our music is a huge part of how we keep our identity,” he says. “And we know how much you Aussies love our music, from Split Enz to Evermore you guys have nothing against claiming it as your own, so we thought it was about time we showed you Aussies what it’s all about,” jokes Brian. “We have gone for a strong Reggae-based line-up this inaugural year, as Reggae and Dub have been at the core of New Zealand music for quite some time, it was a natural decision” explains Brian. “But while there will be a solid Reggae influence, there’ll still be some great Hip-Hop, Funk, and Soul in the mix and it’s just amazing to bring all these artists to Perth at the same time, bring on November 26!”
