Make Smoking History Targa West

This event has passed!

Witness the motorsport action up close and for free when the Make Smoking History Targa West hits some of the most iconic roads in the Perth Hills, Swan and Perth CBD on August 9 to 12.

The event program provides plenty of opportunity for spectators to not only see the 60 plus competitive vehicles in action but to also get up close to the cars and meet the drivers at the static displays. The event kicks off on Thursday when the classic and modern competition vehicles congregate in Yagan Square at 11am for the event’s ceremonial start.

The start flag will be waved at 1pm, and they will leave the city to start the competition in earnest at Whiteman Park. During the day on Friday, the vehicles will run the Kalamunda stages, including the iconic ZigZag, before heading out to Northbridge for the Shannons Show and Shine in the evening (6pm – 8:30pm).

Saturday the competition spends the day in Toodyay, Chittering and Bullsbrook to run some of the event’s longer stages. At Sunday’s finale on Riverside Drive, these vehicles will be joined by a host of other vehicles including exotics, club racing cars, vintage cars, motorcycles, boats, soapbox racers and more for the Celebration of Motor Sport on Langley Park and the Shannons Classics on the Park.
