The Brooklyn/Köln artist has certainly impressed critics, scoring himself an 8.7 on Pitchfork and being named in Stereogum’s 40 Best New Bands of 2010.

With washed-out melodies, reverb-drenched falsetto and bone-rattling, sparse percussion, How To Dress Well brings to mind Bon Iver on valium, but from a soul rather than folk background.

Last year’s record Love Remains, is a shimmering diamond of a release, fusing almost apathetic ambience with emotional intensity and fiercely intelligent production. It’s an understated record that draws on unexpected influences and is somehow simultaneously brutally honest and deliberately opaque.
