2009 marks the tenth year that Amplifier has been at the centre of great live music in Perth, and to celebrate this milestone, December 31, 2009 will see the venue open its doors for a New Years Eve party like none that Perth has ever seen before. Local rock gods GYROSCOPE will headline a truly epic two-stage extravaganza that will feature a very special East Coast act (TBA), the cream of the local crop and the best DJs, cherry-picked to keep you keep the crowd moving through the first hours of 2010.

One the main stage, GYROSCOPE will bring their frenetic, no-holds-barred live show to help ring in 2010. Not the type to rest on their laurels after 2008s Breed Obsession debuted at #1 on the ARIA charts, the lads have been sequestered away in Wales over the last few months working on their highly anticipated fourth album. For every fan that has missed them during their absence, it will be a must-see event when Gyroscope return to their home stage for this Amplifier New Years Eve extravaganza.

In addition to GYROSCOPE, we are pleased to announce that Sydneys THE MESS HALL will be journeying across the continent to celebrate a decade of Amplifier. Sweetening this deal even further, Perths very own kings of good times, the DEATH DISCO DJs will be keeping everyone on their toes on the main dancefloor after the clock strikes 12. And of course, it wouldnt be Amplifier without the brightest of local musics rising stars, so to rock out for the final hours of 2009, we are pleased to announce that THE NOVOCAINES, HARLEQUIN LEAGUE, THE DEVIL RIDES OUT, YOUNG REVELRY and WOLVES have been added to the bill for this two-stage extravaganza.

Its been a decade, and Amplifier remains Perths best live venue. Since 1999, lovers of every style of music have made the journey down the laneway to see the best of the touring acts, dance to the most cutting-edge DJs, and watch as the best local bands have emerged into the spotlight. This New Years Eve, come and celebrate with us as ten years turns into eleven.
