★★★★.5 - Sydney Scoop "Fantastic" - The Buzz From Sydney

"Remarkable" - Lisa Thatcher

"Raw, real and relevant" - The AU Review

The Blue Room Theatre's Summer Nights & SLATE present FRONT. Start a band, get famous, get screwed, get wasted, get fired, get petty, get knocked out on television. Get everything you ever wanted.

FRONT, a new play by writer/director Michael Abercromby, explores the blurred definition of success in today’s music industry. Based on Abercromby’s time as a musician in Perth, FRONT follows local band Rough Cut Punt during their rapid rise to fame. With hilarious songs and boisterous characters, this is a window into the often unseen drama of rehearsal rooms, green rooms, and studios, in an industry that promises intoxicating opportunities for those willing to pay the cost.

Featuring Perth's strongest emerging and established home-grown talents, including Isaac Diamond (Penthouse The Blue Room Theatre, Cloud Nine WA Youth Theatre Company, The Night Zoo Spare Parts Puppet Theatre), Oscar Harris (Top Knot Detective) and Mary Soudi (The Players Bell Shakespeare, Blame Traffic Twenty seven six, FRONT JackRabbit Theatre, The Pearl Fishers West Australian Opera, MINE WA Youth Theatre Company and front woman and bassist of Perth band Boys Boys Boys!!)

FRONT is set to storm the stage this Fringe World Festival season. Playing at the State Theatre Centre of WA from the 18th - 26th January, don’t miss this dynamic, modern piece of theatre. Crude, rude, punk hijinx at its best.

Directed, Written & Designed by Michael Abercromby Produced by Loredana Cross With Isaac Diamond, Oscar Harris, Adam Marks, Mikayla Merks, Mary Soudi and Harrison Targett Photograph by Taryn Hays
