Folk and Roots @ Perth Cultural Centre

The W.A Folk Federation with the support of City of Perth and the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority have announced the folk artist lineups for Sunday 18th March for the Folk and Roots @ Perth Cultural Centre on Sundays.

On Sunday 18th March, the WA Folk Federation have Mike De Velta and the David Robertson Trio supported by the John Mc Nair and Keith Anthonisz duet.

The performances will be from 12.30pm to 3.30pm at the Perth Cultural Centre. Mike De Velta combines blues, folk and a hint of the eastern expressed through lap slide, ukulele and acoustic guitars. London born and based in Karratha for some years, Mike has built admiration for his music in Perth and across Australia. In 2011 he released his album, “Whiskey in The Morning” to national acclaim. This has been followed by many performances and radio interviews in recognition of his unique style With the most frequently played tracks on Global Thunda Network‟s Australian Independent Radio, he was announced Best Blues Artist in 2011.

Dave Robertson is a story teller though his indie-folk-pop songs. Dave‟s Little Scientist EP has received radio airplay around Australia including Triple J, the national youth broadcaster. The track “Other Body Parts” was recently selected by Foghorn Records for Sounds Like Cafe. Dave‟s live performances have covered three continents and a plethora of bars, cafes, radio studios, folk clubs, house concerts, festivals and more. His performances have included the Nannup and Fairbridge Festivals and erformances in Tasmania and Canada. A full length studio album of new material is currently in the works.
