Electronic Gaming Parents and Educators need to learn about the effects of electronic gaming and its impact on primary and secondary students in WA schools Wednesday 30 October 2013 7.00 pm - 9.00 pm Are you aware of the electronic games children are playing at home? Do you know what the positive and negative benefits are when it comes to electronic gaming? Dr Glen Spoors will share his insights into the world of electronic gaming and explore issues surrounding this increasingly important topic for educators and parents. Glen Spoors Dr Glen Spoors is a lecturer in Game Design & Culture at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia. He will be presenting a seminar on Electronic Gaming and its impact on children based on his research in this area. The presentation will focus on: the range and genre of electronic games being played by children the impact of exposure to inappropriate violent and sexualised content in games questions of morality or ethics and actions taken due to exposure to some games the issues around safety of online gaming and the potential addiction.
