KickstART Festival transforms AGWA's carpark into live music hub featuring Indigenous Australian hip-hop artist Ziggy Ramo!


Propel Youth Arts WA announces their Festival Day music event Free Parking: KickstART Carpark Music on Saturday 18 April at the Art Gallery of WA Carpark as part of Youth Week WA KickstART Festival 2020, with Indigenous-Australian, hip-hop muscian Ziggy Ramo headlining the free event.

Inviting young people to a night of live music, dancing and food trucks under the night sky, Free Parking will present an array of young artists including Ziggy Ramo who will bring his thought-provoking hip-hop lyrics and beats back to his hometown Perth. Ziggy’s music exposes prevalent Australian social issues including Indigenous relations and society’s perception of “man” and “woman”, he will offer his insightful and politically-charged focus music to the youth of WA at Free Parking.

The event will also feature internationally experienced, Perth-based group Demon Days who will bring their neo-soul, jazz and funk flair, whilst Your Girl Pho adds her eclectic blend of pop, R&B, jazz and electronic beats to Free Parking.

Joining the lineup is Women of Music Production Perth signed Ruer who will showcase her electronic groove and vocal virtuosity, and 80s inspired pop-funk outfit Violet Orange who will have the audience up and dancing in no time.

“This concert is going to to be the largest music event Propel has ever put on, I have never been more excited about the musical talent that we’ve lined up and I can guarantee this is going to be a night not to miss for music fans.” says Program Manager at Propel, Cecile Vuaillat.

Every Youth Week WA, a night of live music is dedicated to WA’s hottest youth musicians at KickstART Festival. The event will showcase WA’s latest music scene and encourages young people to connect and immerse themselves within WA youth arts.

Free Parking: KickstART Carpark Music offers a night of free live music from some of WA’s hottest acts on a local and national level, and is presented as part of the Youth Week WA KickstART Fesitval 2020 by Propel Youth Arts WA. Saturday 18 April will see a transformation of AGWA’s carpark into a night of rambuction beats from young WA artists on a local and national scale, it will be a night not to miss.

About Youth Week WA KickstART Festival
KickstART Festival is an annual, week-long Festival offering a range of free events across Youth Week for young people aged 12 - 26. This includes workshops, live performances, a makers market, exhibitions and talks that celebrate the artistry and background of WA's best young artists. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, KickstART Festival is headed by Creative Coordinator Kobi Arthur Morrison.
