Cabaret Soiree Carnivale - His Majesty's Theatre
GINA WILLIAMS AND THE LUBBLY SINGS
26, 27 & 28 August
An angel’s voice, a poet’s heart, Gina Williams will make you laugh at her stories, think about her messages, and as you let your guard down she blows you away with her divine voice. For almost two decades, Gina has been dedicated to the telling of her people’s stories and in this powerful cabaret Gina will disclose her own story. Gina is a Balladong Noongar woman, with links through her grandmother’s line to the Kija people of the East Kimberley. Gina uses the traditions of her elders (songs and spoken word) to take audiences on an amazing journey of a proud Aboriginal woman who has struggled through the dysfunction stemming from her past and embraced the hope of her future.
Gina is a multi WAMi award winner including The Most Popular Local Original Indigenous Act and this performance will feature songs from her critically acclaimed album Brilliant Blue.
