In the 1970s, in a remote corner of the Western Australian coast, two teenage boys, Pikelet and Loonie, are hungry for discovery. The pair form an unlikely friendship with Sando, a mysterious older surfer and adventurer who pushes the boys to take risks that will have a lasting and profound impact on their lives. Based on Tim Winton’s award-winning and international bestselling novel,

Simon Baker’s feature film directorial debut was shot in Denmark and features locals Samson Coulter and Ben Spence as the young leads. In 2018, it was nominated for nine AACTA Awards, taking home Best Actor and Best Sound.

*** Special guest performance by Triple J Unearthed artist, Grace Armstrong. Grace grew up in the small country town of Balingup where solitude is rife, but in that solitude she woke her love for music. Her folk/rock/pop outfit have recently released their debut EP ‘Good Fortunes’ that has caught the eye of Australia.

ToneDeaf named Grace as one of ‘The 8 Incredible Aussie Artists you need to hear’. She has also appealed to Triple J Unearthed, who featured her in their Artist Spotlight. Her nature is mesmerising and her songs are beautiful. From 5pm each night, guests can enjoy live music and a picnic dinner on Cottesloe Civic Centre’s beautiful manicured lawn, while watching the sun set over the Indian Ocean.

In addition to pizza and John St Cafe’s highly-sought after Italian donuts and coffee, guests can now choose from a delicious array of burgers, burritos and nachos from the street food gurus, Clean Tasty Dirty.
