Bob Brozman at the Fly By Night

This event has passed!

Redefining musical diversity worldwide, Bob Brozman is a remarkably prolific artist whose wit, energy, and musical technique combine powerfully to create an unforgettable live performance. A master of slide, fingerstyle, and percussive guitar, Bob's exhilarating show spans the global and musical spectrum, and keeps audiences enthralled, begging for more of his endearing, infectious energy.

Bob's familiarity with diverse world music cultures produces a novel blending of rhythmic and timbral influences, unparalleled in today's musical environment. His rhythmic dexterity resonates with elements of blues, jazz, Gypsy swing, calypso, sega, and even the most modern hip-hop and ska beats

Since Bob’s last visit to Oz, he has covered thousands of miles on tour, stopping in his California home only long enough to host his California music seminars to students from around the world.  2009 saw long tours for Bob, in the UK, Japan, Belgium, France, Spain, Romania, Greece, Slovenia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and the US west coast.  In 2009, Bob received the Acoustic Guitar Magazine award for #1 Acoustic Slide guitarist.  He has also been collaborating on new guitar designs with National Resophonic, and recorded the soundtrack for the documentary film “Hori Smoku—Sailor Jerry.”   As always, Bob has many new projects cooking, including an Irish collaboration out in September, and a project with a 13 piece French–Gypsy big band in the works as well.

For this year Bob Is releasing a DVD including never-seen 1978 footage, extracts of  Bob’s 1980’s encounter and recordings with the legendary Tau Moe Family, right up to his recent adventures in Okinawa, Reunion Island, Hawaii, Papua New Guinea, and other locales, encapsulating Bob’s unusual life and work.
