Big Aussie Swap 2011

City of Perth is hosting Big Aussie Swap in 2011in partnership with Mindarie Regional Council and Planet Ark.

The Big Aussie Swap encourages you to see the value in things you have just lying around at home – so get into that spring cleaning and dig out some items you don’t need or want but someone else might! 

Time: From 11.00am Entertainment & Activities and registration of goods; 12.30-1.30pm Swap. Event finishes at 2pm.

What you need to do……

1. Bring your three (3) unwanted items to Forrest Place between 11.00am & 12.30pm on Tuesday 8 November

2. Exchange each item for a token

3. Be in Forrest Place between 12.30 and 13.30 and swap your tokens for someone else’s treasure!

Please bring items of good quality such as clothes, accessories, toys, books, CDs and DVDs (perishable foods, electricals and large items such as furniture cannot be accepted).

In addition to the Swap there will be displays, interactive games, entertainment by Eco-Faerie Cara and Junkadelic, a recycling quiz with opportunities to win prizes and more. You might also find out fun and creative ways to reuse and revitalise your old stuff!

Participants are also encouraged to bring along spent batteries (excluding car batteries) for recycling on the day.

This City of Perth event is part of an initiative of Planet Ark to celebrate National Recycling Week 2011.
